We decided to go for it, and what began \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/fairdalebikes.com\/2017\/02\/the-spaceship\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eas a fun R\u0026amp;D project\u003c\/a\u003e is now a reality.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the past we had always talked about some of the higher-end bikes being like “spaceships”, so using that term for the project’s code name was a given to us. When it came time to name the frame officially, the Spaceship moniker had morphed into more of a term of endearment and it stuck.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor the Spaceship, we started with the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/fairdalebikes.com\/goodship\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eGoodship’s\u003c\/a\u003e proven road geometry and modified the tubing shape and sizes for titanium.
